Crossmedia Design AKI

Johannes Itten (11 november 1888 Südern-Linden - Zürich 27 mei 1967) was een Zwitserse kunstschilder, ontwerper en docent. Hij is vooral bekend geworden vanwege zijn theoretisch werk in verband met het Bauhaus en zijn kleurenleer. Itten werd in Südern-Linden geboren, waar hij een opleiding volgende naar de methode van Fröbel. Hij kreeg een opleiding bij de kunstacademie in Genève, maar keerde terug naar Bern omdat hij niet onder de indruk was van de Geneefse docenten. Hij volgde een aantal lessen van Eugène Gilliard, een abstracte kunstschilder. Tussen 1919 en 1922 gaf Itten les aan het Bauhaus. Later publiceerde hij het boek ‘Kunst en Kleur’ dat vooral zijn ideeën beschrijft over compositie en kleur wat gebaseerd is op de kleurencirkel van Adolf Hölzel. De kleurencirkel van Itten omvatte twaalf kleuren. Itten nam ontslag na een ruzie met Walter Gropius over commercieel werken binnen Bauhaus. Today we had a After Effects basics workshop given by Jan Guichelaar. Beneath here you can see the rendered assignments were I had to use basic After Effects controls.

The first photo underneath here is the result of the assignment during class and the photos after that one are sketches which I am going to combine into one final piece. Because I want to do more with illustration and also learn more about Illustrator, I decided that I want to create some sort of poster/artwork in a cartoony style combined with a lot of small icons. Why? Well, the answer is really simple, I have never done such a thing before so I'm really curious how it will turn out. Maybe it's a bit unclear, but keep an eye out for my final piece on my blog and things will get clear to you I promise.

Okay, so it's monday, first day of the week and today we had our first course given by Annika(I do hope I wrote your name correct, if not, sorry (A)). So we already knew her from the little trip to the Pol as one of the guides together with Bas Könning so we knew what to expect. She started the lesson with a little talk about herself, what she does, what her background is, etc. So she herself also studied Crossmedia Design followed by a year in which she travelled the world. After that she decided to study Illustration on ArtEZ in Zwolle and not long after she got an offer to work on the AKI as a Crossmedia Design teacher. When she was finished with her story she gave us our first assignment. We had to form couples of two after which we had to draw specific parts and stuff off one another.
